Canon 1D mk IV hands-on

10 years later, finally got my hands on it!

There was a deal that I couldn’t turn down… so I’m the new owner of a Canon 1D mk IV with a 300mm f/2.8.

Review coming up in a month or so. I should hit Africa.

I cannot believe that this body is 10 years old! It’s still so good. Compared to my brand new X-H1…I’d say the 1D feels even more responsive. The image quality is impeccable. I love the body, the heft to it… it’s perfect. It’s damn sexy and the shutter sound screams photojournalist.

I’m getting a 85mm f/1.2 L to pair it up with, should be a perfect combo to do weddings over the winter in Europe.

Stay tuned for a review. I don’t review a piece of gear until it’s been through a fair bit of action.
