10 books for 2020

Sharpen the sword of knowledge with these books!

2020 has been a crazy year! If you wonder what to read next, here’s a short list just for you!
These books are timeless. You’ll enjoy them, guaranteed. I read all of them 2 times or more.

The Origins of Totalitarianism by Hannah Arendt: a fantastic book that dives in depth on what happened in NAZI germany. Highly recommended!

If you haven’t read the abridged version yet… go read it! Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn took down the soviet communist regime with this book. The Gulag Archipelago is a must.

I must have read this book 5-6x times. It’s that good. A lot of things in this book can be applied to the mining industry… such as EVERYTHING SUCKS, NOTHING WORKS. It helped me through relationships and work environments. It talks about a genocide. But the book is way deeper than a genocide. I couldn’t recommend this book enough.

A classic and a must-read by Robert Greene.

2020 makes more sense after you read this book. Ordinary Men is a great read about the genocide of the jews in WW2, and teaches us that we’re actually closer to another genocide than we think that we are.

A brilliant book by Samantha Power! Every American needs to read this book!

Oh, I loved this book. It shows how strong the human will can be. Unbroken is a book that everyone needs to read once a year.

I read this book 4 times! I love it! Endurance helped me through tough passes of my life. Highly recommended!

Charlie Plumb appeared on the Jocko Podcast 2 years ago. I loved the interview, and loved the book. Both are highly recommended.

Finally, a must-read by Steven Pressfield. It’s a short book, but it’s dense and good for the soul. Highly recommended.

If you want more book suggestions, here’s my mega reading list!

Cheers,

JP
