Roadtrip to Mongolia 2023: Jeep Wrangler or GMC Sierra?

A good rig.

The plan.

My second home/office.

Well, I thought I would have reached Mongolia by this time of the year… but PLOT TWIST! Due to COVID19 and the steady descent into a fascist utopia, or, shall I say, a brave new world order, I sheltered in place in northern Canada until this all passes.

I still expect the world to fall apart around 2030-2046 due to abrupt climate change (Canfield Ocean+clathrate gun theory) and magnetic pole reversal. So what the hell, one life, live it, right? The plannedemic will probably be going on forever, but I expect some countries to be more flexible on quarantine rules by late 2022 or early 2023. The world was always ending, and the good news is that WE ARE ALIVE NOW. And now is the time to chase excellence…

I brought the truck for that trip this year. I had to sort of give up on my Jeep Wrangler in Buenos Aires and get the hell out of the country before it went down. It is still down there in a storage facility… But… the Jeep might not be with us for the Ibiza to Mongolia part of the journey, sadly. Dreams are still possible, aren’t they?

I have to decide: Jeep Wrangler, GMC Sierra or Tesla Cybertruck?

The road I drove.

Jeep in Baja California

Jeep on Ruta 40, Argentina.

Jeep in Alagoas, Brazil.

In Northern Brazil!

In Nevada!

Jeep in Gramado

Jeep in the Patagonia.

Still, I have these two questions yammering loudly in my head:

  1. What do you do, when you don’t have anything to do?

  2. Where do you go, when you don’t have to go anywhere?

I still have to find an answer to these questions.

In brazil

I got so many visitors on this blog from Africa, Europe and Russia… I figured I’d better start putting the idea out there… making new friends! Talking about destinations and sites to visit! Maybe event meet follow overlanders!

I’m throwing this dream out there to the Universe. If anyone is interested in joining/collaborating/drinking beer with me… well… email me! I would love to visit museums and historical buildings and archeological sites in Latvia, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Poland, Belarus, and all of the countries around.

Dreams are still possible.
There is no hope;
Yet there is only hope.
