Transport Routier warns us that up to 35 000 trucker – 1 out of 5 – might quit this coming January. That is if the US pass a bill requiring truckers (or commercial driver) to show a proof of vaccine to cross the US/Canada border.

The trucking industry in Canada suffers from a major shortage already. 40 000 drivers need to be replaced before 2024.

If the US passes the bill coming this January, we can expect a further breaking down of the supply chain. As a trucker union said, “the move could lead to 'dangerous level of disruption of service in certain sectors'“

Yeah, no shit.
