Fuji X10 Ultra Long Term Review

Fuji used to make great sensors. Insanely good sensors. The S5 had a better dynamic range than any other camera on the market for the time. Then they made the small X10… which was phenomenal. The photographers that used the X10 knows what I’m talking about.

I cannot say enough good about the X10. It travelled the world with me from 2013 to 2015. I bought it twice. Someone stole it from me the first time. And my current X10 has been in the hands of a girl for the last 3 years… So no hands-on pictures of the X10! Sorry! To compensate, here are some shots from Nepal (before someone stole it from me near Kathmandu!):

Those colours! Unreal eh? Like the X-Trans first generation! Unbeatable.

Here in Singapore.

You would be forgiven if you’d think these shots had been taken by a DSLR. The dynamic range was so much better than the X20 and X30: It had a special EXR sensor, increasing the dynamic range to a staggering 1600%.

The battery life was terrible. The construction was top notch. The joy of using the X10 was bare none.

Here in Australia. Look at those clouds!

Look at this dynamic range! INSANE for a small 2/3” sensor!

If you can find a X10 for cheap… go and get it! The lens is extremely sharp. I wish I could show you the camera in detailed pictures, but I’ll have to find one near me before I can do so!

The autofocus was fast. This camera was one of the last great compacts that Fuji made… The company is dying, that’s for sure. They killed the S5: they killed the X10 EXR. They killed their X-Pro series. Sad.

Thanks,
JP
